There are many hurdles in making the Moradabad-Thakurdwara road connecting Uttarakhand and UP a four-lane road. The DM said that despite getting 90 percent possession of the road, the work was not done by NHAI. Angered by the non-construction, the DM made the junior engineers sit in the police station.

After this, when they promised to start the work in two days, the police released both of them. The district administration has acquired the lands on Thakurdwara Marg. DM Manvendra Singh said that he had four meetings with NHAI engineers in this matter.

It was decided that work would be started after 90 percent of the land was captured. NHAI had floated a tender worth Rs 625 crore to build the route. The contract for this route was given to Raj Corporation, a firm of Mainpuri district. In the matter of this route, the CLO had called the junior engineers of NHAI for questioning.

DM interrogated the engineers for not starting the work. When no clear answer was given, the DM instructed the police to take both the engineers to the police station. Civil Lines Police took both the engineers to the police station.

Delhi officials made a recommendation to the DM in this matter. It was decided that NHAI would start the road work in two days. After this the police released both the junior engineers. In this matter, NHAI has demanded force from the district police.

The 39 kilometer long road connecting Uttarakhand is to be converted into four lane. NHAI has repaired the road by filling the potholes.
